Which are your favorite Bogart movies? Same in regards to Paul Newman, Gary Cooper, and Clark Gable? Movies you'd suggest that fall into the time period round the thirties and forties, and the sixties? I know it's sort of a wide range question, I'm just looking to catch up on classics I haven't seen, and movies really worth a look.

Can you recommend any films that are similar to Blue Velvet? I'd say I'm pretty solid in the ways of the Lynch, so I'm familiar with his canon of work. It's just I've never really come across anything that I find to be as perfect as Blue Velvet. It's like an equilibrium between Eraserhead and Twin Peaks. I'm asking you because you seem to have an encyclopedic knowledge of film and what IMDB lists as similar (for any film) makes me scratch my head.
oldfilmsflicker oldfilmsflicker Said:

I’m not really sure how to answer this so I’m just going to throw some things out there:

  • Barton Fink
  • After Hours
  • Something Wild
  • Videodrome
  • Shadow of a Doubt
  • Night Tide
  • Angel Heart
  • The Long Goodbye
  • Liquid Sky
  • Klute
  • Paris, Texas
  • Shock Corridor
  • Repo Man
