I love the screenplay to The Apartment because you have the exchange in the first part of this photoset about halfway through the screenplay and then Billy Wilder throws that same lingo into the action of the ending.
Good screenwriting isn’t just the story development and the characters and the dialogue. It’s also adding that something extra to the action that makes it your voice as a writer. I mean, you have to be careful if you’re trying to sell a spec script not to have too much voice because the people with the money just want a good story, but having a little is good. This is good.
